ASHLEY TURNER
Director

Ashley Turner is Benefits/Diversity Coordinator with Kiewit-Kvaerner Contractors. Prior to assuming this role, she has worked in government, media, research, and women’s organization capacities. Her previous positions included Executive Director of the Office to Advance Women Apprentices, and Industry and Community Liaison with Women in Resource Development Corporation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Sociology, both from Memorial University of Newfoundland.

The focus of her M.A. research was on the under-representation of women in Newfoundland and Labrador’s offshore oil and gas industry. This topic also became the focus of research that Turner conducted for the Strategic Partnership Council. From this research, she has developed policy and implementation recommendations to improve the recruitment and retention of women in the oil and gas industry.

Turner also sits on a number of boards and committees, representing a gender lens in relation to women’s employment in non-traditional fields.
