LINDA ROSS

Linda Ross has held the position of President/CEO of the Provincial Advisory Council on the Status of Women, Newfoundland and Labrador since May 2009. Previous to accepting the position with Advisory Council, Linda worked in the field of international development with Oxfam Canada for 24 years most recently as the Team Leader for Policy and Outreach in Canada. A major focus of her program work has been in the area of gender and development with particular emphasis on the social and economic exclusion of women. Her work has involved travel in Central and South America, Africa and Asia.

Linda has over 20 years of volunteer experience on Boards of Directors with feminist and not for profit organizations including the AIDS Committee of Newfoundland and Labrador, the St. John’s International Women’s Day Committee, Newfoundland and Labrador Public Health Association, Canadian Public Health Association, Newfoundland and Labrador Health Coalition and others. 

Though both her work and volunteer experience, Linda has extensive knowledge and expertise in organizational management, strategic planning, human resources and governance.
