(Hons.) in Geology from Memorial University ('99), and has worked as a geologist in the petroleum industry for the past 10 years. She has technical and business experience working on fields in Western Canada and offshore Newfoundland. Lori has particular experience managing major assets and constructing 3D geological models.
Currently working at Husky Energy in their Subsurface group, Lori has worked on projects for the White Rose and Terra Nova fields, which has included such tasks as constructing 3D geological/reservoir models, monitoring drilling operations of wells, and writing basis of design technical documents. Lori has also worked in Calgary, Alberta for Devon Canada Corporation, Anderson Exploration, and Petro Canada Oil and Gas.
The Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) has certified Lori as a climbing instructor for over nine years. She currently works at Wallnuts Climbing Centre in St. John's, Newfoundland. Lori is one of few certified instructors in the province, instructing private lessons and teaching a 'women's only' climbing course.
