FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why Grade 7 girls?

  1.  The Grade 7 science curriculum includes a module on heat. The outcomes are about energy and alternatives to traditional uses of energy.  Examining and testing how electric heat is created from different and renewable energy sources will lead the girls to a better understanding of this topic.
  2. This is a stage in girls’ lives when they are beginning to take an interest in larger issues such the environment and the impacts that individual decisions and actions on the global stage.
  3. This is early enough in their academic careers that girls usually have not yet  made decisions on career path or high school course selection.
  4. They are in the first year of intermediate education, so they are expecting and are ready for more advanced learning experiences.
