OVERVIEW
The Newfoundland and Labrador forest industry has 2 main sectors:
- the production of newsprint and
- the production of wood products through saw milling.
Newsprint production has the highest dollar value of the two.
In 1999, there were 10,000 direct and indirect jobs throughout the province in the forestry industry.
